The Indianapolis Prize is an award given every other year to an individual who has made extraordinary contributions to conservation efforts involving a single animal species or multiple species. The winners of the $100,000 award are selected from a slate of internationally recognized conservationists and announced at an extraordinary celebration in Indianapolis. The Indianapolis Prize and Gala highlight not only the finalists and winner, but also the vitality and commitment of the Indianapolis community. The Indianapolis Prize is the largest individual monetary award for animal species conservation in the world and is given as an unrestricted gift to the chosen honoree.
